undiscovered countries...

"people can be very frightened of change"

Getting to do what you want in life aint plain sailing, especially when half the time you’re telling yourself you don’t deserve it anyway and external forces feel like they’re going out of their way to reaffirm all those doubts….

People like me don’t get to do what they’re doing, alone in this I’d be getting nowhere and probably getting every door slammed in my face if I tried.

So during a very philosophical chit chat (no, not drunk!) I started talking about the undiscovered countries of life, thank god most of you never have to hear me when I get like that; old Shakes was talking about death, Captain Kirk was talking about fear, change and moving past old doubts and prejudices…..

I think I’m reappropriating the phrase to talk about people and their fear of change,

of not knowing what they’re capable of when they let go.

What they’re capable of creating with just the tiniest little shove of encouragement and cheerleading. We all need back-up.

We’re all undiscovered countries until we try,

until we push ourselves out of our comfort zones.

THE SHOOPERY has no mould laid out for you, there’s no pathways or journeys or agenda. All we want to do is give people the back-up they want to create something of their own and let that breath and manifest however it feels right and needs to.

You get to own it for yourself.

So I think that’s what I want to do in life, I just have to work out how to do it and let myself believe that I can and maybe sometimes even let myself think I deserve it.

Don’t worry though, I’ve got back-up.
